If someone told you this garment was coloured using eco friendly dye stuffs and printed with plant based Inks…would you notice?
If someone told you this garment represents a global movement towards a sustainable future…would you listen?
If someone told you the organic cotton in this garment was picked on small village farms in India… would you care?
Fashion designer Sam Elsom believes as much in the integrity of process as he does in the final product. His commitment to the environment and a move to earth friendly fashion is unwavering. Quik Elsom product is an undeniably sustainable and responsible project aimed at creating a stronger understanding between the customer and the product. ‘Through the product we hope to educate folk further on the where, how and why of each garment’ explains Elsom.
Each tee is made in Australia by Elsom with every step being eco friendly, from seed to swing tags. Tees are made from 100% organic cotton grown on small, locally run farms. Crops are netted and integrated pest management methods are employed to ensure surrounding waterways are chemical free. Each tee has been hand treated to create a sense of nostalgia, with artwork paying homage to the origins of Quik and the surf industries contribution to innovative screen printing methods.
The swing tag contains scented Bottlebrush seeds which can be planted to grow into a native Bottlebrush tree improving your local eco-system.
Most of all the tees are intended as a Quik offering made with care and attention to detail in a small Sydney warehouse. A cottage industry set up just like in the beginning.
